Emergency Grab Bag

Host a weekly or monthly community movie night! Select a host for each event, and have them write down some prompt questions to lead the discussion afterwards.

If your building does not have a movie or entertainment room, do not fret! A simple TV and DVD setup up will work, maybe one of your neighbours would be willing to lend theirs out. If you want to fundraise for new equipment such as a projector, you can consider setting up a concession stand with popcorn, snacks and drinks for sale. Planning a post-movie discussion will encourage people to stick around, talk and socialize.

Hint: You can even plan a virtual movie and discussion event. Share a movie title that is widely available with your community and a date for a discussion. Neighbours can watch the movie on their own time and then everyone can come together virtually to discuss and share their thoughts, reflections, and insights.
