PART 1: STARTING
Find Your People
When starting a new aging in place group, it is important to find like-minded people who can help bring your vision to life. Whether they are neighbours you already know or ones you have never met before, having the right group of people will ensure that there are plenty of good ideas flowing and plenty of people to bring them to life. While this can feel daunting at first, there are many creative ways to do this without too much discomfort.
Knowing who to look for
As you look for others to join in, you will want to find people who have the qualities that can make your initiative a success. Generally people who are reliable, patient, enthusiastic, and good communicators make good partners for this type of community work. Of course not everyone will possess all of these qualities, but the most important thing is to surround yourself with people that want to help.
